We are two women who share a love of cooking, gardening, running and art. Fortunately, all of our interests compliment each other quite well. With our favorite meal of the day being breakfast, we have been motivated over the years to invent a variety of vegetarian breakfast recipes. From pancakes to savory muffins, we’ve made it all.
Between us, we’ve been cooking meatless meals for over 30 years. Being vegetarian means you better like to cook! If not, you better learn to like it since there aren’t a lot of prepackaged meals that will suite your nutritional requirements or for that matter, your taste buds.
Sam is the gardener extraordinaire of our duo. This year she strayed away from flowers and shrubs and focused on veggie gardening. The results of her efforts showed up in many of our breakfasts. If she grew it, we chopped, broiled, steamed, sauted, stuffed, baked or grilled it.
Running, our third obsession, fits in well with our culinary endeavors for the obvious reason: burning off our excess indulgence. The breakfasts we most enjoy are the ones after our Sunday long runs. At 6am, when the alarm goes off and its cold, dark and ____ (raining, snowing, icy), you seriously wonder why, WHY does anyone do this? Yes, of course for the feeling of accomplishment but also for the promise of coming home to a warm kitchen and creating the best breakfast EVER, without any concern for calories. It’s all about rest and reward from this point on.
Finally, our love of art is fulfilled by the joy of the process and the beauty of what we’ve created. The way we live and the things we invent and produce inspire the next project or even other people. We hope to inspire you and to ignite your interest and imagination through our favorite vegetarian breakfast recipes.
